- Retired in 2021 after 28 years of service in Missouri public education, including a distinguished 16-year tenure with Lee’s Summit R-7
- Currently in my 5th year with Blue Valley Schools, serving in roles as teacher, principal, and administrative consultant.
- Held leadership roles across all levels: teacher, coach, assistant principal, director, and assistant superintendent
- Served in four central suburban school districts in the Kansas City area: Independence, Fort Osage, Lee’s Summit, and Blue Valley
- Successfully led two 6A high schools: Lee’s Summit West High School and Blue Valley Northwest High School.
Named Greater Kansas City Missouri Principals Association (GKCMPA) Principal of the Year in 2015 - Honored as the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MOASSP) State Principal of the Year in 2015
- Recognized as UMKC School of Education Alumni of the Year in 2017
Inducted into the Baker University Wall of Honor in 2017

- Devoted father/husband, loyal friend, and lifelong learner who embraces growth through both success and failure
- Proud U.S. Army veteran (1988–1990), served on an M1 tank with an infantry unit in Germany as part of the 3rd Armored Division
- Witnessed the historic fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989 — a defining moment in both global history and personal perspective
- An avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, bass fishing, and playing golf

Favorite or Most Impactful Teacher Growing Up:
Coach Bill Summa — He was my High school social studies teacher and track coach. He was a tremendous motivator, mentor, and developer of potential. He was the first “teacher leader” I truly admired.
